StoreConnect Version 20: A New Foundation for Smarter Checkouts and Smoother Operations

November 24, 2025

Big news, everyone — Version 20 is here, and it’s one of the most foundational releases we’ve ever shipped!

Launched on 1 July 2025, Version 20 marks the beginning of a new era for StoreConnect. We’ve completely re-architected how carts, point-of-sale (POS) experiences, payments, and Salesforce syncing work under the hood — all while making day-to-day administration simpler and more reliable.

Whether you run an in-store kiosk, a mobile pop-up, or a full-blown omnichannel operation, these changes give you more flexibility and a rock-solid base for everything we’ll build next.

Here’s what’s new, what’s changed, and why it matters for your team.

1. Unified Cart and Commerce Data

The new dedicated Cart object in Salesforce is more than just a holding container—it’s a powerful tool for your sales and marketing teams.

  • Smarter Abandoned Carts: Abandoned carts no longer prematurely create Orders; they now stay within the dedicated Cart object. This allows for cleaner analysis and targeted engagement before the order is finalized.
  • Flexible Pricing: Cart Items can now have their prices adjusted directly in Salesforce, with those changes reflecting both online and within the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • First-Party Analytics: The new Cart object supports custom fields, giving you a cleaner way to capture and track first-party analytics data.

2. Expanded Shipping, Tracking, and Fulfilment

We’ve significantly broadened our ecosystem and improved visibility into the delivery process.

New Carrier Support

Version 20 introduces new options for both tracking and shipping:

Customizable Shipping and Tracking Visibility

  • Carrier Product Customization: You can now customize the shipping products offered by providers when rates are fetched. This includes enabling/disabling products, modifying their labels, and adding custom instructions.
  • Account Deliveries: The new Account menu includes a “Deliveries” section that provides a clear view of all Fulfilments and tracking information. Order Summary pages also now show all related fulfilments.
  • Automatic Tracking Updates: Tracking updates are now automatically surfaced within a Fulfilment page for real-time visibility.

3. Payment Flexibility and Administration

Handling multiple payment methods and subscriptions is now simpler and more robust.

New Payment Gateways

We’ve added support for four major new payment gateways:

Enhanced Features

  • Subscription Payments: Subscriptions are now fully supported in wallet payments, improving the customer experience.
  • Flexible Preauthorization: Preauthorization with capture can now be customized to be tied to either the Order or the Shipment.

4. Admin and Developer Tooling

Version 20 introduces new tools to streamline theme development, debugging, and content management.

  • Website Builder: The website builder now features a visual editor for design and content block management. Content changes can be saved and scheduled to go live on a given date, and the process is compatible with Salesforce approval processes.
  • Web Console: A powerful development tool for debugging themes, offering:
    • Full Stack Trace: See a full stack trace of all templates and controllers on every page load.
    • Performance Tools: Use Timer to check the performance of any theme code for optimization, and Filter performance to list all filters and their runtime.
    • Debugging: Debug prints messages to the console from Liquid templates, and Errors/Warnings shows template errors in the console instead of on the live website.

5. Customizable POS Experience

The Point of Sale system is now deeply customizable to fit any retail environment—from a mobile pop-up to an in-store terminal.

  • Customizable UI: The POS UI is fully customizable through a new system of POS Action Groups and POS Action Items that allow you to override menu lists, grid items, and general areas of the interface.
  • POS Views: Developers can now use POS Views to create custom HTML/CSS/JS containers in various places within the POS, enabling bespoke functionality.
  • Next Action Queuing: Automate your checkout flows with Next Action Queuing, which allows a task to automatically queue its successor (e.g., “scan item” → “collect payment” → “print receipt”).

These features are foundational, powerful, and ready to use. Check out the full release notes for complete documentation on how to leverage the new capabilities of StoreConnect V20.
